Grady’s Garden’s
Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We're committed to offering kids from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds the opportunity to learn about the world outside of their immediate surroundings.
When we developed our pasta sauce products, we provided kids from Grand Rapids, MI K-6 schools and Boys and Girls Clubs with the opportunity to taste the pasta sauce formula iterations to provide meaningful feedback, developing early sensory skills and learning how products are developed by food companies. Some of the moments were priceless and validated some of our taste assumptions.
When we created the cartoons for Grady's Garden, we got actors from ArTES Magnet High School to represent the character demographics. ArTES Magnet is a public high school focusing on the arts located in San Gabriel, California. In fact, the actress who plays Ms. Contreras is a teacher there! This is the first professional acting job for everyone in our cast.
To record their characters' voices for the animation, they got to visit a professional sound recording studio for their first time. Not just any studio either: Hacienda Post is the Hollywood recording studio where they record actors for cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants, PowerPuff Girls and Adventure Time!
The kids studied their lines and recorded their performance in the recording booth just like on any other cartoon show.
